Possibly No More Cocooning at Work!

Wow, I never realized the problems some IT people have. I guess the threat of firing someone who misuses their connection just isn't enough (it is where I work as they have done this in the past).

I couldn't even count the amount of times management has warned employees about browseing the internet. I only monitor the useage and report to the management, but the abusers still feel it's my fault. In fact I have been called names like, internet natzi, big brother, network spy.

I find it all childish, work is for work.

The company I used to work for had some internet issues, too. The owner made a nifty little program to parse out the ICA logs and was able to get all kinds of good information. The company was spending over $1000 per week in payroll to fund the employees' non work related internet habbits. Needless to say after a few emails the browsing stopped. People complained...They also forgot that the reason they were at work was to...work.
