Prewired Sounder. Is it a speaker, or a specific horn/use?

Hey all,

Our home was prewired. I havent pulled it apart yet, but are most speaker/sounders typically one sound. Like a proprietary horn, etc? Or is it merely a speaker and the sound is set/sent by controller?

Is there an easy way to tell the difference?

These are the speakers I used. The Elk M1G send speech, siren sounds, etc to it.

Prewired for alarm or whole house audio? If you are talking alarm, just look at the back of device and Google it to see if it is a siren or a speaker.
