Proliphix IP Thermostat

Is anyone using a Proliphix IP thermostat, specifically the NT120H? I'm about to pull the trigger but before I do I wanted to see if Cocooners had gripes or accolades for the stat.

Thanks in advance,
Terry

Terry,
Please let me know if you've ever used Ostrosoft's Winsock to handle UDP communications. I'd be interested in seeing the script. I have a need to handle UDP comms with an external device. Premise handles TCP natively but not UDP.

Slightly off-topic: Igor Ostrovsky has created several great COM objects (free for non-commercial use). I've experimented with his POP3 component so that Premise can process incoming email (SMTP is native but not POP3). I also used his SMTP component for a VBA application, based around MS-Access, with excellent results. Solid products with excellent documentation and plenty of examples; highly recommended.

Both Housebot and Premise use VBScript for scripting so there's opportunity for a bit of code-sharing (I posted some code in the HB forum recently as "HB Guy"). Another set of free COM objects can be found at Toolsack. I haven't tried them but they look like they can be useful.

Let us know how it works out with the Proliphix thermostat. Good luck!

Was waiting for somebody having your desired model to respond, which did not happen.

I have the Proliphix residential models (NT10 and NT20) and have been satisfied with them. Remote programmability and control has been excellent (not because it's my own code, but because the API is very robust). The NT20s provide remote temperature measurements very nicely.

Some owners have complained that the clocks run slow or fast, I think the clocks are no worse than a PC clock and I reset them weekly. Also I think the heat anticipator function could be improved -- the stats tend to overshoot the setpoint during the morning heating cycle from an overnight setback, but work fine maintaining steady heat. No downsides otherwise.
