IVB - how's the video and audio playback via the Pi and RDP?

 
FYI, so far I don't really like it. I had to switch to a different RDP client. Looks like this'll be good for basic tasks, but not a/v.

Give me 24 hours to reply.  Started having video issues with the full screen RDP program, not sure why. The not-full-screen one seems fine. Haven't tried audio yet. I'm also going to see if I can connect a USB device to the RPi and pass through to the RDP VM. (ripping BluRays using a local drive would rock)
 
I am growing a little weary of the slow response time, this is a quad core but its 1.2GHz , and its $35 so I can't complain too much. Its adequate for basic work, though.

 
I'm not sure how you're using the RPI3.  But if you're doing anything that is processor intensive, you might want to consider putting a heatsink on the CPU and possibly on the memory chip. This will help dissipate the heat generated by the chips. There is a known issue with the RPI3 which causes the CPU to throttle back performance under heavy processing loads.  When the RPI3 is not under load, it operates at 600 MHZ and increases to 1.2 GHZ to process heavyweight loads.  When the board temperature goes over 80C, the RPI will reduce it's operating frequency to reduce the heat.  The speed is gradually reduced, dropping down to 600MHZ if the temp is over 85C.
 
So, if you're doing any type of processor intensive work, it might behoove you to use heatsinks.  Also, I'd suggest to not put the RPI3 in any type of enclosed case.

oh interesting, I actually have a heatsink kit that I never put on. And its in a case. Thx.
 
Right now its just RDP so nothing happening actually on the RPi3, but doesn't hurt to try.
