Recommended Wireless Receiver for ELKM1

Hey Guys. Trying to get my M1G up and running after a year in the box! I've made great progress and plan on having all my wired doors/windows online tonight!

I am starting to look to phase 2 - Wireless.

Q1: I've got a handfull of windows that I would like to tie in that are not wired. I need a receiver. Is the m1xrf2g my best option?

Q2: What else would I use the wireless component for?

Yes, I would use the Elk receiver over the GE one. Once you have the receiver you can use it for all kinds of transmitter like water sensors, keyfobs, etc. Essentially any crystal based GE transmitter, just look at all the options.

There is more than one ELK Receiver now. Look at the transmitters for GE and Honeywell and see which you prefer selection and price wise as ELK has a receiver for one or the other now.

I am using the M1XRF2G Elk receiver so that I can place it in a good reception point in the house. That model uses the Data bus so I just put a databus hub in the attic and ran some cat5e up there from the basement and hooked it up. I think the databus option makes it more flexible.

I am also running the MicraG wireless and PlungerG for my doors, but they would also probably work for windows too. I have casement windows so I am using glass break sensors instead.
