Remote monitoring a freezer.

I thought I had posted earlier, but I guess I never hit "Add Reply" :)

I'm interested in hearing how everyone actually got the sensor in the freezer without affecting the operation (cooling) of the unit. Will the door seal close up around a wire and keep the freezer sealed or did you install it some other way?

My freezer is old so I just drilled a hole through the back, near the top and inserted my DS18s20 one wire sensor flush to the inside. Filled this small hole with that expanding foam. It took less than a squirt.

Just connected it to a normal zone which is defined as a non-alarm zone. The rule delays announcements for 15 minutes so when the wife is digging around and the temp rises it doesn't annoy her. The TS300 is mounted on a wall next to the freezer and displays ambient temperature, and freezer temp if you press a button.

Can you let us know more on how you connected the TS300 to the M1. I have been looking for a suitable temp sensor for the M1 for years!

I need to connect 4 inside and one outside.

Cheers,

Fleetz

I use an Ademco TS300 connected to my M1G. The rule in the M1G delays an announcement unless the temp sensor reports above a certain setting for more than 15 minutes. You need the optional remote sensor which can be run into the freezer and the door closed with no apparent problem.
