Russound on Serial + HTX?

I have a Russound CAV6 connected to an Omni II serial port. It's primary control is through programming (all zones off at bedtime, etc.) Can the Omni II also support an HTX2 to control the client's home theater equipment?
 
If both were operative, what if any issues would there be on a display device (Touchscreen, Snaplink device, etc.)
