Seagate firmware update for failing 1TB drives

This problem was also in the 500GB and 1.5TB 7200.11 series Seagate SATA HD. I had just bought 3 of the 1.5 TB drives and had them in a linux software based RAID 5 array and was using them as media storage and server. While watching programs on my MythTV application I would get random 30 second freezes wich would spontaneously resume. Upgraded the firmware 4 days ago has fixed these issues.

So yes the problem is real but the fix corrects it.

Mostly ditto...I have one of the 1.5TB drives in my Automation server.

Firmware fixed it.

Think I might pick up a couple since the fix is good, I'm rapidly running out of storage space and wanted to wait till I got some solid info from users.
