Hello Everyone,
Is it possible to safely run a speaker/siren (ELK-73 compact echo) over Cat5?
Is it OK to double up "strands" to create one higher gauge wire?
I bought a house with Cat5 already run throughout and would love to use one or two of the runs for speakers as apposed to running new wires which would require wall damage.
As an alternative has anyone tried to pick up a line level signal off the Elk M1 (through some sort of electronic gadgetry) and run it via Cat5 to a remotely located Elk 10Watt amp to be re-amplified at the speaker location?
Any thoughts?
- Ben
