Smoke and contact questions

I thought they were magnetic contacts but I didn't see the movable piece. Also, these windows can slide open from both sides, wouldn't there need to be a sensor on each side? Basement windows are all the same except they are aluminum frames.

What type of smoke is this? I read about 2 and 4 wire setups but not 3

That smoke looks like a typical 120 VAC powered with a traveler wire to trigger others when tripped.  Typical install that comes with most track homes.

The picture of the smoke detector shows a FireX G-6 detector which is a stand-alone smoke detector that is not for use with an alarm panel.  The yellow wire is an interconnect wire that is used to trigger other units within the house.  The black and white wires connect to 120VAC for power.

Can I reuse that wiring for a 2-wire smoke setup? For what it's worth, I'm looking at GEs 429 CST smokes.

Reuse the wire and toss the smoke out. I'm sure it's well past the replace date. It'll be used with an Elk M1G panel most likely.

The first smoke is in the basement (unfinished) about 10ft away from the panel. It should be fairly easy to get it to reroute it.

The first picture shows a shock detector. Might have power or might have a lithium battery inside (Sentrol and Litton units were good for that)
 
The 120V wiring can be reused as long as it's continuous through all the detectors and no branch circuits are powered from it....you'd be amazed. The wiring would need to be removed from the breaker or branch circuit it's connected to.

Is there a way to tell if there are branch circuits? (without opening all the walls?)

Turn off your breaker to the smoke chain and see what else died... you can also remove each smoke and see if there are only the wires you expect.

That is one way...the other way is to kill the power and then start pulling detectors down. Should be a continuous 14/3 from the first to the last. Take the first one, pony all the cables together and then go to the next suspected unit. Break the circuit and start metering. Lather, rinse, repeat.
