I'd like to replace my 10 smoke detectors which are not integrated into the security panel. Currently, they are integrated with each other. The're the 120 volt 3 wire type and are all linked with each other so if one goes off, they all go off.
I'd like to replace them with units that do smoke, heat, and CO. Since there are a at least 4 18 AWG wires connecting them in a chain already, I'm pretty sure I can use the existing wiring and the chain starts only 2 or 3 feet from my panel already.
What are the advantages of each? Cost, features, etc?
