Suggest thermostat for ELK M1EZ8

I have an ELK M18EZ system
I have the ELK-M1XSP I am currently using as a serial expander for keypad
I have a HAI Omnistat 1 series 1

I cannot get this to work.
Elk says the thermostat is not enabled

I am unsure of the wiring for the Omnistat
The manual shows Red and Black connected on the Omnistat harness. I do not have a harness so I tried to wire both ways.

Can someone suggest something that is easy to setup and use?
My furnace has dual stage fan system, so I should have a dual stage thermostat?

I was looking at the HAI Omnistat2 series. But don't want to repeat the problems I am having with the Series 1

As far as I know the Omnistat 1 should work. You need a dedicated M1XSP though, flashed with the Omnistat firmware. I believe this may be your problem.

A second problem is your dual stage furnace. If the Omnistat 1 is not dual stage, then you will have to get the Omnistat 2. I use it with my Elk M1 and it works perfectly fine.

I do have one dedicated, it is just chained with a keypad.
It also also flashed for the Omnistat

I think the wiring for the Omnistat II is much more simple.

Mine just has a com 4 prong plug, not labeled.

I have an OmniStat2 hooked into my ElkM1G, and it’s working just fine. I just automatically switched over to A/C. Changing the temperature and setting the hold capability are easy to complete. The proximity sensor makes it easy to check the temperature (especially nice if you have been eating something sticky). In addition, I can now programmatically cycle my fan to help correct unbalanced A/C problem.
