Just installed my new ISY994i. I love the fact I can use Mac OSX browser for the ISY interface and not have to start up a virtual windows environment! Sorry ELKRP.

Just spreading a bit of personal joy around during the holiday season. 8)

While it's a nice product I don't understand your "Sorry ELKRP" comment. The ELK M1 is primary a security system with some limited home automation features. Does the ISY994i do security?

Elk markets the M1 as a "Security and Automation Controller".

On that note, it it limited in a few ways one being email and another being memory. There are others but it's really not necessary. The ISY makes up for a lot of these short falls. I agree that it has it's place but the best of both worlds is to have them both until something better comes along from Elk (M2, etc....)

Of course I have an Elk for security. I was just poking fun at Elk's 1990's software approach to ELKRP ... and yes I did enjoy the last hotly debated discussion of this topic! :nutz:

Many, many products today take the browser as configuration tool approach and it certainly is convienient. The typical problem is speed.
