Thermostats and ERV Control

Wondering if Ecobee is the only thermostat that can control our Trane energy recovery ventilator? Right now we don't have a separate controller for it, it's all part of our Trane XL800 thermostat. There was mention in one thread of the RC2000 potentially having it, but I don't see it listed in the manual. Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know if this is helpful or a case of 'apples and oranges', but my Carrier ERV (ERVCCLHU) provides a contact closure (OL shorted to OC) "override switch" that activates the ERV in addition to the dedicated ERV controller. I've got the contact closure hooked to an Ocelot-controlled relay so that the ERV can run on a timed schedule. If your ERV is similar, you should have a good bit of flexibility in picking a controller for at least basic on/off control.

Cheers,
-Bill

I just got around to considering this again. Thanks for your post. Checking out the Trane specs online, it looks like mine is similar - it has a NO terminal. Thinking about it, all my thermostat does is run it on auto or run for 20/40/60 minutes on request. I'm not sure what the Ocelot specs are, but do you think my Elk could handle it? It looks like the terminal block is connected to a 24VAC power for the fan relay. I have this Trane ERV. Does anyone know what I would need to have my ERV controlled by Elk?
