TV over fireplace cabling

I was wondering what you guys are using as a raceway to run cables from a wall spot to over the tv.
This is new construction the walls are still open.

I was at home depot today. The biggest flex tube they had was a 1/2". Didnt see many single gang boxes that had
conduti type connectors on them. So wondering what you guys are using and where you got t.

I used regular old PVC pipe and simply reached into the wall to pull the wires.

Finally, if you need to run tubing, then rigid PVC is fine. You might also consider buying Carlon Resiguard tubing. Many local electrical suppliers (not big box stores) sell it by the foot. It comes in all different diameters and works with Carlon's excellent line of cable management devices.

My local Home Despot carries Carlon Resigard, but not in the 2".

I just bought 2 50 foot coils of the 2" on Friday, from a local electric supply shop.

If you're very particular, you can research the Carlon Resigard options on the Carlon site, using their catalogs. Then order the specific parts anywhere.

If I were you, I'd physicially visit one of the local electric supply shops, after doing a little online research. Kindly ask to see the boxes, and ask for help with your project. Great, underutilized local resource, with competitive pricing.

I cut into the chase surrounding my fireplace today - huge, open space around the fireplace. So much space that I installed an access panel, in a master bedroom closet, that I can crawl through into the chase. I'm installing attic-basement conduit through this chase.

Edit - Blue 'smurf tube', flexible nonmetallic PVC conduit, will also work fine for your future wire runs, and is widely available. It's more expensive than the Carlon orange Resigard conduit.

Don't forget you'll need 110V to the display, also. You could install a recessed multi-gang box over the fireplace, combining 110V and low voltage into the same box. Example from Arlington:

I understand this doesn't help you with your conduit problem - just something to consider.

I ran the wires (this fireplace was prefab, so no masonry to deal with) without conduit. They were tacked to a stud behind the wall, above the mantle. I mounted 3-gang dual-voltage boxes (about $12, link). I had spoken with the electrcian, he had left a romex run back there and had no problem putting his box in. This is an old-work box, so you cut the hole after the drywall is up, pull the LV wires out. Keystone plates or whatever.
