Unidentified ELK M1 part

I'm sorry this picture is very blurry, it was taken with an old cell phone.

This quarter coin sized square piece of plastic fell out of my Elk-M1 when I removed the cover. I'm not sure if it is really a piece of the elk or not but it did fall out.

Any ideas of where it goes?

That goes on the right side of the cover (clamshell) of the M1.

Ahh, I remember seeing an opening on the right side, that must be it.

Yes, it goes on the top cover of the M1 in a slot. It was designed for an access hole for an Ethernet module that was designed to mount on the M1 board, but it never made it to production.
