anyone used the lantronix ubox 4100 yet? are there cheaper alternatives that premise supports? the ubox lets you have usb ports over ethernet.

I have not used the lantronix product, have had good experiences with a product called Silex. They make single port and 4 port USB to ethernet adapters with both windows and OS X client software. Available at your local Fry's.

I use them to control an Insteon PLC remotely. If it can support the PLC communication I would expect it to support just about anything.

I'm interested as I live close to the Frys in downers grove, il. I can't find it on Frys website though? Model number and price? I'm guessing it's this one: http://www.silexeurope.com/en/home/product.../sx-2000u2.html

A bit OT, etc6849, we're in the same neighborhood. I'm in Villa Park. 10 minutes from that Fry's.

Another really good USB to ethernet device is the Intelix. Don't know the cost though.

That's pretty neat. I figured there had to be someone around here using Premise besides me!
