Vizia RF+ not compatible with Intermatic Z-wave CA3500 Receptacle

I just installed a small Zwave network using the new Leviton Vizia RF+ controller and dimmers. It seems to work fine. However I also purchased a single Intermatic CA3500 Z-wave receptacle and cannot get it to be associated to the Vizia RF+ controller. I called Intermatic and they essentially said that Leviton controllers don't work with their products! and said their intermatic controller is the only one that works with their products! This makes no sense to me. I wasn't sure if he knew what he was talking about because he kept saying the receptacle had a green LED but it has a white LED. I also called Leviton and they assured me that their controllers should be compatible if the Intermatic receptacle is a Z-wave device. Has anyone else had this issue? Have anyone else been successful using Vizia RF with any other manufactures Z-wave Receptacles?

I have an Intermatic CA3500 in my Vizia RF system and it works fine. You may have to exclude it first to default it. After default the LED should flash between Red/Bluish. You can then include it. This may take a few minutes but it should work.
