wall wart help

I bought a couple of AMX Video Sync Sensors a while back, and they have phoenix connectors to the power supply. The manual says:

Power Supply 12 VDC at 20 mA
Power Consumption 2.4 W maximum

The manual can be found at: http://www.amx.com//techdocs/0421100.pdf

I suppose I could get a wall wart, but I don't know much about volts and amps and stuff. Can someone post a link to something that I could use to power one of these things?

i appreciate it

The voltage has to match, 12 VDC in this case, and has to support at least 20mA, but anything higher is fine (it just will only use 20mA). So a 12VDC power supply with a 100mA current rating will work. Should be very easy to find a power supply which matches those specs.

Dan, does the +/- wires from the wall wart matter, and if so, what's the easiest way to identify them (especially if the plug on the end has already been clipped).

The best way is to strip the wires a bit, separate them, then plug the wall wart in and measure the voltage with a meter on DC Volts.

Pay attention to the wire on the red and the wire on the black lead. If your reading is a positive on the meter, you have red to plus and black to minus. If the reading is negative, the reverse scenario is true.
