Water Bug

Hi, I have a few WB's that I need to install. I have a well and would like to install a Relay/Contacter to break power to the well pump. I can't seem to find a N/C contactor rated at 220V 30A, I only see N/O contactors. Does anybody know of a manf. and part# that would work for me. Thanks for any info.

Mike

Don't know what you are trying to do but, you might be able to put a relay on the pressure switch circuit. This would prevent the pump from running. Is it a submersible pump?

Hi,
I want to use the output of the water bug to shut off my well pump in the event of a leak. If there is a power outage in the house, The water stops running in a few seconds so I figure a relay controlling the pump power would work fine. I just seem not to be able to find one that is N/C or form C that can handle 220V 30A. I will also connect the water bug to my Elk for notification.
If I can find the right relay, I will do the same for my pool pump(Smoked a 3hp pump last summer). But I will use a flow switch connected to my Elk and with rules have the pump shut down after no flow for a set period of time.

Thanks,
Mike

I have used them in my data center and had a lot of false positives in the AC units. Not really a fan but they have been very helpful when they are right. When we exercise our generators they ALWAYS throw off a false positive. I am confident this is an installer error but still a nuisance.

I spoke with Winland at ISC West about your problem. They were unaware of any other reports like yours. Are you using the supervised water sensors? Also, after spending some time at the booth I was underwhelmed by the product. The WB200 was made in 1980 and hasn't been improved much since then. The WB800 has some improvements but still doesn't suit my requirements. There were no other water detection companies at the show.
