Water cooler

Hi everyone--

I am needing some advice about water cooling, and places to buy the stuff.

I am building a CNC plasma cutter, and I am needing to cool the servo drives. Is there any reason I can not use the stuff for PCs?

I have machined custom copper base plates for the servo drives that have 3/8 inch water jackets installed.

Is there any type of additive that I can add to the water to keep it from freezing? My shop is not heated all the time?

I am wanting to install the radiator out side of the 30 x 36 cabinet. This way there is less chance for dust to get inside.

Besides a pump, what else do I need? How do I size the pump and radiator? Just go with the bigger is better approach?

Thanks

Steve

I think you might have to try this post on some of the popular CNC forums, not many people build their own CNC machines :)

Well, antifreeze would work best to keep it from freezing, and you don't need a huge radiator. Use a motorcycle as an example. not very big radiators, but are able to cool a 1600cc engine with no problem. Just an idea!
