David is sort of on track. The powerflash has different modes where it will look for a resistance change instead of "raw" contact closure, so this is why it works on Power Flash vs. a DS10A (or at least without looking at the Power Flash manual that's what I think is happening as I'm not an expert on this module).
I may have some time tonight to try that All Electronics water sensor. I will probably try to get it to work with a DS10A via external relay. The only problem is you will have to have this work with batteries (of course the DS10A does that anyway).
