I live in Montreal (Quebec), Canada and I've got an M1G installed in my house and want to have it centrally monitored. In theory, I would have expected that the CID format of the M1G would mean that I could get this monitored anywhere, but I've already been stonewalled by a couple of places that don't know it or "can't support it". When I try to push for more reasons why they can't support it, if it is a standard communication protocol, their response comes out as "we don't know how to communicate back with it".
One of the biggest culprits to date is Chubb Edwards. My insurance company has an incredible deal going on with Chubb (13$/mth for full monitoring + they cover deductible), but I can only reach sales reps at Chubb and they don't want to help me out.
I looked around a couple of years ago for this and didn't have tons of success. I had found a couple here in Montreal, but they wanted some 30-35$/mth, which I thought was overly expensive. So have been self-monitoring in the meantime, but I think it is time to switch to a central place.
So I'm looking for someone else reliable that can do the monitoring at a reasonable price. Does anyone know of good places in Canada (preferably in Montreal) that is willing to support the M1G? Any recommendations? Anyone in Montreal have an M1G?
