Window sensor magnets

I am finally getting around to completing my security system and I discovered that the company who pulled the window sensors did not put magnets on the window part.
In looking at it myself, the sensor is exactly where the weatherstrip is located, so I'm not sure the best way to drill and place magnet without ruining the weatherstrip.
So, my question is this: is there an alternative to the traditional magnets? Like a magnetic strip that could be affixed to the window? I'm guessing not, but I thought I'd ask...I've done some searches and nothing is apparent.

Thanks,
W

I'm not sure what things look like mechanically for you but I used these:

http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=DA01

They are rare earth magnets and have the about the same 'power' as the regular magnets that you need to drill holes for. They do not need to be perfectly aligned and if you need more 'power' you can stack them (at 1/32 inch they are nice and small). KJ Magnetics has MANY options for magnet size. On my windows when they are closed you cannot see the installation and when they are open you need to look real hard to find the magnets. It is worth it to play with it for a while to find a magnet that works. Not sure if this is new construction, but for me I had the windows before they finishet thus I could remove a trim piece for easy installation of the wired side of the magnet.

If you post a picture of your window it might help us find a way to get a magnet in there.
