Wireless notion

I have used the old(and cheap) Eagle Eye wireless x10 motion sensors before. don't remember the model of the receiver that injects the command on the powerline, but that isn't important. i have used the x10 command as a trigger event in HAL to send a UPB signal to the appropriate device if it isn't an x10 switch. A bit of latency, but it works well enough for the application- turning lights on as you approach.
My latest (and last!) project is all UPB, controlled by HAL/Cinemar/ELK.
I am planning to use the motion sensors of the ELK when I get and install their UPB interface. There are some ares that don't have motion sensors. Are there inexpensive devices(such as the Eagle) with an appropriate receiver/injector or ELK compatible wireless sensors with an ELK receiver?

The concept is to improve the WAF by turning on lights as needed, then letting them time out if no motion seen for n minutes. All ideas welcome!

Hi Bob,

I currently do this with my ELK, UPB and J9AE for my software. I use hardwired ELK sensors but you can get wireless sensors (such as the NX481) and an elk receiver but you did say inexpensive ~ These sensors can get expensive

Yes, you can use the X10 RF motion sensors with a W800 and an Elk XSP.

Or you can use an Elk RF security receiver and use the GE/Honeywell security sensors. Elk has 2 receivers now, so buy the one to match the brand of transmitters you want.

I love my HA setup. But WAF is an absolute necessity. So in the garage and laundry room (places where her arms are as often as not.. full) I use regular motion sensor wall switches.. they are fast and generate high WAF. I even have one basement bulb (in a old pull string fixture) that I have used a screw-in motion sensor... works great.
