i'm looking for an outdoor wireless motion sensor that i can tie into my hai omni pro 2 controller. i have searched and found only a few, but they all have like 2-5 minute auto shut-offs to save battery life. im looking to trigger some lights and can't have them standby for 5 mins. just to save batter life. any ideas?

thanks.

That's a pretty open question. Certainly if you use a wired sensor, it doesn't shut off to save power. A model like the Optex VX-402 is real good. They have a wireless model as well, but it sounds that won't work for you.

upon second thought, maybe i can make use for 2-5 minute shut-offs. i could make the lights they trigger stay on for that amount of time!

any suggestions as to which wireless exterior ones work well with the omnipro and what else would i need?

thanks.

With an outdoor detector, you have to think about them being triggered by animals. I've had good luck with the Optex multi-segment indoor models not being set off by my cat. Maybe an Optex multi-segment outdoor model would work for you.

I use the Optex HX-40RAM wireless (you add the transmitter) outdoor PIR. It's not cheap, but I haven't had a single false alarm in over a year, and we do have animals that walk by the area at night. I use the Elk M1G, but since you use your transmitter, just get one that works with the Omni Pro.

HTH,

Kevin
