Wireless receiver location outside of operating temperatures 45A00

I'm installing a 45A00-1 onto my OPII setup and am looking for advice on where to mount it.  I'd prefer to mount it in the attic of my two-story home or in the attic space above my attached garage as it's a high location and free from obstructions.  Another option would be in my garage that is uninsulated and unheated.  I live in Ohio and these areas will see heat and cold outside of recommended operating temperatures for the receiver.  Is that acceptable?  If not, where are installers locating these units in 2-story homes in the midwest?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Really the height is not that important, as much as having an unobscured direct line-of-sight with a minimum of metal between the receiver and the sensors.  I'd keep it close to the panel unless you have a reason not to.  At least try that first before spending much time and effort to put it further away when you may not need to.  The GE receiver allows for the use of repeaters, should you need them, unfortunately, the HAI version doesn't offer those.

Good point. The controller is in my basement so I can at least place the receiver near the floor joists to start.  Thanks.

I have mine in the attic space above my garage.
It's on the inside of front wall near the apex of the gable end so there's only a sheet of osb, tyvek and wood shingles between it an the driveway sensors that are the furthest away.
The key fob and other transmitters in the house reach it with no problem.

How hot and cold do you suppose it gets in that space?

The main attic above the second floor has a temperature sensor it in, I've seen 130F in Summer and maybe 20F in Winter.
The garage attic is at the single story level with a bedroom above it.
It is on the west side of the house so it only gets afternoon sun.
I'd guess it gets above 100F, but not as hot as the main attic.

The receiver has been installed for nearly 5 years.

I tried that sensor out side here in NYC and it didn't work once it got around 30 degrees.

Wow, I guess the operating temps they list are pretty accurate then.  Thanks for the help.

Installed the wireless receiver in the basement joists and the range is quite good.  Thanks to everyone for the help in determining a suitable location!
