Full of questions eh?

The question is this:

In a cat5 cable what is the best way to make a 1-wire loop?

I have cat5 drops running to lots of rooms in my house and want to hook up the ds18s20's you so kindly sold me

Can I can use 1 pair to bring the 1wire up to the sensor and 1 pair to "return"?

Darryl,

You can do that as long as the runs are not too long. Sometimes using two different pairs in the same CAT5 can create crosstalk and reflections that can cause some problems. Best thing to do is to try it and see if it works. If it doesn't work it won't cause any damage.
