As mentioned before, many automation companies recommend 568A. An example when this might be important to follow is with an audio keypad that has punch-downs that don't necessarily follow either convention and the amp/controller expects 568A. If you decided to do B (or perhaps did it out of habit), it is possible to damage the keypad (ask me how I know). Just something to be aware of.
As for the MagenPull, I wouldn't attempt to do a retro job without it, but that's just me.
