I've been doing some work with the xb Browser (a new generation mini-browser), such as adding temperature to the display (thans 123!), modifying some of the controls, and other things specific to my needs. I've also been taking Rob Brun's WeatherStation module and making some mods to that, as well. (Rob had added xb support to the WeatherStation - I have extended it and fixed a couple of the bugs).

I'll be putting the updated WeatherStation up shortly (still working on instructions and need to make sure the install works correctly). In the meantime, I've added some graphics I have been using to replace the standard xb graphics into the downloads area.

One item that has been puzzling me, and I haven't been able to find it thus far...in the xb, even if the obj Navigation property is set to hidden, the image and full navigation is seen in xb browser....any idea how its set in the Automation browser? Or where its located?

Hi Chuck,

I'm interested in using this for my PPC that runs windows modile 6. I can't get the automation browser to load on it and I don't know why... Does xb Browser have the same functionality of the automation browser?

The reason you can't get it to load is due to the SYSConnector won't load - so for PPC (and my Axim X3) the xb browser is the choice. Unfortunately the xb broswer has only some of the functionality. The primary ability is to be able to control the content (for Media) and some simpler functions like temp, lights, etc. I'm not sure why they never included functionality like navigation, individual device control (such as PVR, etc). You do have the ability to add custom folders, which do show up. I just never found them to be useful. So largely, I use mine for content and environment control. In the family room, I can control the channel(s), the volume, channel up/down and power (and lights and temperature). I have channels for TV and the album covers for media.

I guess the insanity of the whole thing, devices like the Asus R2H(?) and other UMPC devices, you should be able to have the full Premise functionality in a device w/ the form factor of a PPC.

I finally picked up an Integra Receiver from eBay, so once I make it thru that spousal approval cycle, guess what's next?

What is the difference between the xb browser and the PPC browser that is part of Premise? I know the PPC browser leaves out a lot of stuff but does the xb browser have more functionality out of the box.

I have just been using the PPC for now with my own graphics.

xb vs ppc - prob not of apparent changes...xb added appliance and fan classes. It was then extended to include the image I have pasted in - essentially a large album image (not done by Rob). Then Rob extended his WeatherStation module to include an xb element. (You'll see when I upload what it does).
I extended it (as you can see) to include temperature and rain (we havent had any, thus...)

Hopefully, you can get the concept from the tiny images....(btw, the xb image is coming from the full browser version vs the PPC...)

OK,Thanks, I loaded the XB browser and the Custom Browser add on and now I see the advantage of the XP browser.
I can see my Weather Station now when I use the xb browser. I can see where this would be nice with those cheap Win CE Touchpanels like this one
I just found in a google search. http://laptops4me.com/product_info.php/p/d...oducts_id/76672
(I don't know anything about this company and I have never ordered from them.)
