z-wave device to listen for 95db alarm

So my friends basemen recently flooded.  They may have to condemn his house due to the extent of the water damage.  This got me thinking about water detection.  However $60+ per sensor is cost prohibited when I need them in near every water source.  I thought of an alternative solution.  Buy the cheap sensors that emit a 98db alarm and use a z-wave / IP device to listen for the alarm.  I'd transmit to my VeraLite.
 
Does anyone know of a device that will listen for that tone?  Are their recommendation on building one?

At 6 dollars a pop I'm not going to build a moisture sensor. I want LOTS of moisture sensors that will "report" to the system.  Therefore I need something to pick up the 98db alarm.  I'm thinking of using an Arduino with either a "knock" detection or FFT matching.

Do you really want the noise of all of those sensors sounding their alarms?  I think I would experiment with one and see the voltage coming out of the speaker (with it disconnected) and maybe rig something up (transistor, etc...) using that as a trigger.
 
As far as a vibration detector, I did some playing around with a custom circuit with my Dexcom diabetes monitor project.  Here is a YouTube video showing the (adjustable) sensitivity of it picking up a slight touch.  This isn't the most practical design (concerning cost) as I just wanted to get one working quickly, but it might give some ideas).

Here the only concern is near the water heater and sump pumps relating to failure or leaks.
 
Curious about the concerns relating to multiple areas of moisture sensors.  How many and why?
