I'm new to Elk and purchased a new system to test with, and can't seem to get past a "NOT READY" issue on Zone 16 which I have set up for smoke detectors.
I have an Elk M1 Gold, with a single 2WTA-B smoke detector connected to zone 16. I have jumper 1 on the M1G set to "2WIRE SMOKE", and I have an 820 ohm resistor at the smoke detector. I've tried the resistor across terminals 2 and 3 as called for in FIG3A of the documentation (https://goo.gl/XXHmzS) and I've tried it across terminals 1 and 3 but neither resolve my issue. I've tried replacing the resistor, and am now at a loss. Note that the detector comes up with the proper LED blink patterns for power-up and standby, so I know it's getting power.
Here's how I have my 2WTA-B wired:
Terminal 1: Z16 +
Terminal 2: 820 Ohm Resistor
Terminal 3: Z16 - / 820 Ohm Resistor
Terminal 4: Unused
Terminal 5: Unused
Does anyone have a suggestion that might get me past this issue?
