Zone Type 7 not behaving as expected.

Hi All,

Using and ELK M1G I have 2 interior motion sensors setup. One is at the bottom of the stairs. While we can disarm the alam from the upper floor i thought it woudl be good to have a delay when somebody triggers that one so they can go back and disarm before the CS gets called.

Zone type 7 'Burglar Interior Nite Delay' seems to totally fit the bill.

However when using either Armed Nite or Armed Nite Instant mode (i still don't quite understand the difference) the alarms (warning warning, you have entered a restricted zone..blabla) goes of immediatly rather than give me a time to go disarm.

Am i missing something here to make this function work properly?

Other than that setting up the ELK has been really straightforward and easy. Using RP certainly helps a lot so you don't have to go through all the endless menu's on the keypads.

Reading the description given in the manual, it would seem you are correct in your assumption - Do you use entry delay 1 and does it have a decent number of seconds programmed? According to the arming diagram, arming in "Nite Instant" mode would have no delay and "Nite" will allow the delay specified by entry delay 1.

The "Burglar Interior Nite" and "Burglar Interior Nite Delay" defined zones do not work when armed "Stay" or "Stay Instant". When armed in the "Nite" mode all entry delays will be active and the Nite zones will be active. When armed in the "Nite Instant" mode, the entry delays are set to 0, so an alarm activates immediately.

Make sure your software version is up to date. There will be a new M1 software update coming out in a couple weeks.

ok..i got it...

Since the keypad is in the master bedroom i didn't think i needed delay time so i only used the Nite Instant mode.

When using normal 'Nite' mode things worked as intended. I guess i was expecting it to use the normal delay rather than the special one when amred with 'Instant'.

Thanks for the clarification..
