I get that and I thought that I was doing that with the Amp tool. Now I have the GMP and found that it is good up to cat5e with the #8 die but which cat5e plugs are good with it? I know that amp is no good .How do I know if Ideal cat5e are ok? I had no idea until recently how many variations there are.

I'll experiment a a couple until I find one that looks good. I will just have to bite the bullet and buy the 100 pack from GMP. I'll have a lifetime supply

What's really funny is that I have a box of Amp plugs that I thought were cat3 rated but I learned from Amp that they are cat5. Not 5e but probably good enough on a cat5e cable. I'm using those until I find another plug that works with the GMP tool
