marvell plug computer

For those interested the PogoPlug Pro with wireless has been on sale for about $50 on a couple of major sites (Buy dot com and J and R music world).

I purchased one this past week to play with.

just ordered a pogo-b01 from j&r to keep as a spare. i've put my 3rd & last dockstar into service as my public webserver (replacing my hacked nslu2) the pogo @ j&r is $24.99 http://goo.gl/R2rJ9 but if you join their free friends w/ benefits program http://goo.gl/akdrb you get free shipping & a $5 discount making it $19.99 shipped, tax only in NY. the b01 does not have the same processor as the dockstar so debian/doozan hack will not work on it. it's supposed to be supported by archlinux http://goo.gl/bg6Zv

Great price Damage.

Personally I liked the Pink Pogo Plug more than the wireless PogoPlug Pro. I put ArchLinux on one of the Seagate Dockstars. Its sitting inside of my Rainbird sprinkler box running the sprinkler system now. Testing the application originally on the Pink Pogo Plug; but it was too big to fit inside of my Sprinkler system box.

Here is a pic of testing and final setup running MCSSprinklers for Linux. Same functionality as the stand alone and HS Plugin versions.

Thanks Damage.

I was able to replicate the same configuration on the Pink Pogo Plug. IE: such that it boots to a prompt without running the Pogo software and doing DHCP / SSH. From there I could manually build a stick whether it was Debian or Archlinux. The difference in Ram didn't make much of a difference when running the software; from what I could see.
