OmniPro II and IP cameras

Go slow with it and it will work for you.  Here initially for my NVR endeavors I would always test a camera stream with a browser first.

BTW even with a stream that you get a pop up to type the username and password; you can right click on the stream using Firefox properties and see the command line being utilized for streaming.

I just did that here.  Here is what I see (and utilize for the OPII PCA CCTV configuration) for my ZM NVR.

You can get very granular with the stream.

There is also a piece of media software called VLC.  I use it today to get granular information relating to streams.

We have been lucky so far here in the Midwest relating to snow.   It has been a relatively mild winter and it would be fine for me that it stay that way....knocking on wood....

Interesting unrelated this and that....the name of the contractor that built current home is written all over the place here and while doing my DIY endeavors have seen it written in the attic, basement and inside walls really never paying much attention to it.

I took a picture just now and it is attached.

user: (default user name)
pass: ( default password)

AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

I've had only limited success doing this.  The first trick is to get that URL right. Where did you get it?  Have you looked at ispy connect? (http://www.ispyconnect.com/sources.aspx)?  They have a huge data base.  I took at quick look, but didn't find your exact camera model.  The few I did all had "rtsp" strings.  You can poke around there. They also have some free software that you download and it will run through all the possible url strings to see which one works. I also I assume you have the correct address and port number in the string.  Also the fps is set to one? I think that's the frames per second - is that the capability of this particular camera?

Old thread I know.  But I'm having the same problem with no success.

With VLC I can access the stream as follows

rtsp://user:pass@IPADDRESS:554//Streaming/Channels/1

in pc access I put in

rtsp://IPADDRESS:554//Streaming/Channels/1      and the user and password in the fields

But when I view the address in iPhone SnapLink, it keeps ADDING an http:// so get

http://rtsp://IPADDRESS:554//Streaming/Channels/1

even if I manually remove it and save it within snaplink the http comes back

I also tried embedding the user:pass in the address and leaving user and pass fields blank in pcaccess

does and rtsp mjpg stream work for anyone with pc access and snaplink??  would be grateful for any details

thanks!

I know that RTSP doesn't work so do not use it.

PCA / Omnitouch 5.7e  only works with mjpeg / jpeg stuff.

My Axis server(s) / Grandstream cams / and older Panasonic IP cams work fine.

Note this is relating only to the Omnitouch 5.7e screens.  It is only a 4:3 screen and wide views get compressed to 4:3 views.  The updated HAI firmware3.15 enabled the  Omnitouch 5.7 legacy pop up cams to  work which is a good thing. IE: you can do a doorbell ring / driveway ping and pop up cams.

Off the shelf not edited Omnitouch Pro software does not work unless you edit it with the HAI screen designer.

I use the HAI Omnitouch / video hub for the legacy stuff which works fine using the Grandstream encoder / decoder / video amps.
