touchpad firesale starts the 20th

Frunpie,

Is Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread? I played with Android Froyo 2.2 on the dual core Atom Joggler; its really fast. I guess I'm playing some more with WebOS cuz it reminds me a bit (very little bit) of the original Palm that I played with in the early 2000's (or was it late 1990's?). I remember sending out my Palm so that I could update the RAM to something more useful. It was surface mounted and there was a service that would upgrade it back then.

I've given up a bit with HP (my hopes are so so; similiar to BB at this time; although BB came through after speaking to a CS representative. I wonder if it would work the same way with HP?).

BTW where do you get Android image? Been looking; much dialog; no links though.

Yeah, 2.3 is Gingerbread. 2.2 is Froyo. They are planning on switching to Ice Cream Sandwich if it is released in October like the rumors are saying. ICS is the first Android version made for both tablets and phones.

Been playing with Froyo on the Joggler. It works but I'm having a bit of an issue installing Adobe Flash and streaming audio. Not sure why. It is pretty fast although the CPU is getting kind of warm. On the Ubuntu Linux OS I have been shutting down the LCD at night and the temps drop down a bit. I'm not sure what overclocking will do to the HP Touchpad CPU temps.

cyanogen now has sound, wifi, some of android market, both cores & the accelerometer working http://goo.gl/oDSYe

Wow! They really are making progress! I love the ability of the animated "desktop" with the aquarium. I would think that that is taking a LOT of the CPU cycles though. I wonder if the WiFi is, under androids control, able to connect to AdHoc networks. This would allow me to use my iPhone 3Gs as a modem with it. The 4G versions of MyWi, iTether and PDANet create a standard WiFi network, where the 3Gs is only capable, hardware wise, to create an AdHoc network. It really sux presently not having Internet with it on the road using my iPhone :( Here is the YouTube video of where they currently are with the TP running Android.: EDIT: There is supposed to be another video released tonight from reading the Twitter feed.

Wow! What is going on with the post editor! I added the "edit line" and now all sorts of html showing up. I copied the whole post into notepad, to strip out any residual hidden characters, and re-pasted in here, and its still there.... Sorry, not sure what's causing it or how to get rid of it now LOL
New video posted Last night. Wow they are making progress fast, in 3 days fixed the audio 100%, as well as accelerated video, and dual core support

Anyone put the Linux patches on the Touchpad yet?

Now that I have the keyboard and stand will be doing that shortly; just wondering if anyone else has yet?

not me... I am using it with a lot of tweaks for Overclocking, themes and such, but still fairly stock. I will 100% be putting Android on it when they release the CM7 build for it though! :)

CM7 alpha available for the bleeding edge folks http://goo.gl/o6FxZ (their server is getting hammered at the moment)

netflix, bluetooth added http://goo.gl/aTyXK

I did.
Works great so far. A few issues but nothing major.
I have superlink working to control my OPII, ip cam viewer for my DVR, GrooVe IP for GV calling, Skype works but I cant get video to work although I havent really tried much yet, Dolphin Browser, Bluetooth working great, Sling Player, K-9, Remote Desktop, all working perfectly.
Just about everything I installed so far seems to work.

i've finally updated our 2 touchpads to cyanogenmod 7 with the latest alpha 3. it took about 10 minutes each and was super easy to do. this video walks you through the few steps you need to do http://goo.gl/aTGNJ it's got full market access and works with everything i've thrown at it. easily worth 2.5x the $99 we paid for each one.

Plus they are offering refurbs for $99 again in 2 days:

Damage and Dan thank-you for the information!

I tried to find some info and it appears that the BB employees appear to be hoarding the stock they personally bought for whatever reason; but did hear something may present itself on the BB side of things...only a rumor though....sales were not great and mostly made up of their previous asset selling of the UK mobile stuff....

They did redo their Christmas ideology methodology of staff using only their regular part timers / full time staff rather than hiring newbee 1 day trained Christmas help....probably better this way though...

I tried to download the Android updates for something like an hour yesterday. Will try again "after hours" and see what happens.

Wow; how can there already be so many "refurbished" HPTouch pads out there considering they are relatively still pretty new?
