As noted, there are a lot of us in the same pathetic bandwidth ox cart. Here in rural Montana we are slowly going over to radio towers. Coverage is spotty but I'm hoping it will improve.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm hoping HS3's architecture allows it to be as stable as HS1 was.   As far as alternatives, there seem to be a few but they don't appear to have the community of support that HomeSeer does.   I wish you happy hunting, and will be interested in what you settle on.   Don 

As noted above; HS3 will handle plugins differently. Hopefully it will be as reliable as HS1 was, once it matures.

I haven't seen CQC, but the author seems to be quite in the loop. I like HomeSeer a lot, and like Rupp, a long time user. Try 'em both, and let us know what you think.

yeah, but without the INSTEON. I have a device that can detect open/closed circuits. Wonder why they didn't design the thing as a passthrough?

I'm trying to determine if my Dish Receiver is on or off. There is video output on or off. I don't think there is audio... Is there a device that would sense audio output that could be hooked up to some sort of relay? Thanks Don
