IR emitter Extended over Cat5e. Possible?

One of my clients has a GC-100 controller in the basement of his house controlling some of his whole house components. He a has a XM Radio in his kitchen that he would like to control via IR with the GC as well. There is a 100 ft Cat5e run that I would like to use to extend an emitter. Has any...

    Z-wave issue??

Thanks for the reply Chris. Unfortunately I do not have any other software to try (unless you wanna give me a trial copy of control think just to verify? ;-)). I just ordered a handheld remote and a HA22 just to verify if the problem is indeed HAL, the ACT controller, or a faulty module(s)...

    Z-wave issue??

I have been using Z-wave (Homepro Models) successfully with HAL for nearly two years. I recently purchased 3 HA05 Intermatic outdoor screw-in lamp modules to install in my exterior lights. I can successfully find/discover the modules in HAL and I can turn them off using HAL. But I can not turn...

    Novell File Server

Cleaning the tape drive would not resolve scsi bus timeouts. Is the Backup unit identified/recognized by the scsi card during server bootup? Can you do a manual erase of a tape from BackupExec Admin console on the server? Let me know and we can continue troubleshooting. Thanks, Shawn Walsh

    CQC versus HAL 2000

    CQC versus HAL 2000

UpstateMilke, With HAL you are not limited to two voices. They currently have six voices which can all be installed simaltaneously and accessed all at the same time. You basically have a different attention word for each voice. Also I have been told by years end there should be a much larger...

    CQC versus HAL 2000

While I have honestly not setup or played with "CQC" I have to disagree with Why do you consider it not very flexible? I implore you to show me something HAL can't do that Homeseer can. It is compatable with just about every piece of hardware CQC or Homeseer is. The wow factor of HAL as far as...

    Reputable ELK Internet dealer?

Hello MRL, Martin from www.automatedoutlet.com is the friendliest HA distributer I have ever worked with, they stock both Elk and GE (I bought an Caddx NX-8e from him). Not to mention you will rarely find better prices then he offers. Just my 2 cents, Shawn
