ELK-IP232 failed? Orange power LED blinking.

If I recall correctly I had to replace it.

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

I do have an RNET connection between both CAV6.6 units.  I am controlling BOTH CAV6.6s in 2 different ways (using 1 serial port on each unit) - one through my ISY/Echo, and the other through an application called cav66.exe which allows me to control JRiver Media Center with my Russound keypads...

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

I have 2 CAV6.6s (12 zones) so use the serial port on each.  The 2nd port is used by an application called cav66.exe.

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

Hi -   Yes, RNET.  I am using the Echo to trigger programs on my ISY-99 which send commands to my CAV6.6 through an ELK-IP232.  Nothing too fancy, just turning on zones, changing sources, etc.

    Did my M1XEP just die?

Hi IVB -   I was able to resurrect an M1XEP that became unresponsive due to a failed firmware update.  PM me if you want more info.

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

Yes, I'm running the Hue emulator on a Windows server and using it to send REST commands to my ISY which is triggering my INSTEON devices, Russound system, Sonos, etc..  Absolutely love it!

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

Sometimes my kids blast the Echo itself at the highest volume and I cannot get to respond via voice (crazy kids), so I have to manually get its attention.     I use the Echo for basic control of my Russound/Sonos system (turn on Russound zones, select and play Pandora stations on Sonos, etc.)...

Arming the ELK when there's motion

For now I've decided to have my rule arm the system 30 seconds after I trigger it (using the Amazon Echo > ISY).  Kind of an exit delay before my exit delay!  Will see how that works.

    Amazon Echo to HA Controllers

Just got my Echo working with my ISY using the Hue emulator - works great!  Amazon definitely sold at least 1 more Echo for my master bedroom because of this integration.

Arming the ELK when there's motion

Hi -   I don't believe that helps.  Some of my motions (including the ones I am testing with) are already Burglar Interior Followers.  The purpose of that is so when I walk in the door an entranceway motion doesn't trip an instant alarm before I am able to disarm using the keypad.   It would be...

Arming the ELK when there's motion

Trying to setup some rules from my ISY to arm the ELK.  However, the ELK will not arm if there is motion which is an issue for me.  I thought I heard that the ELK would arm itself during motion if an ELK-based rule was used but I have not tested.  In any case, this does not seem to be the case...

Elk M1XEP bootware update failure - now shows as "Erased"

Hi -   Elk support has asked that I don't share 1 aspect of the process which can damage the M1XEP.  But, the steps basically involved:    - ensuring the proper firmware files were in the RP\Updates folder  - power down the M1XEP  - short 2 pins on the M1XEP board (details can be provided by...

Elk M1XEP bootware update failure - now shows as "Erased"

I thought about that, but one of the steps is a bit hairy and could damage the M1XEP.  I've asked Elk if I can share the details, and if they don't mind I will post it up.

Thanks so much to Brad from Elk Tech Support for the help!  I was able to get my bootware re-loaded with some steps he provided via email.   Thanks!

Elk M1XEP bootware update failure - now shows as "Erased"

Just went through the steps and sent them the requested screenshots.    I would like to hope that since the unit is pingable and I am actually able to connect to it with ElkRP that there must be a way to reload the bootware.  Maybe.     Fingers crossed!
