Same setup here and i use the 4500ez via serial to the Elk. No pots or Voip service in the House.. 4500ez works great and is setup with Alarm Relay.

I use the DD-WRT firmware on an Asus router. It has DDNS support for all of the major systems. Using it with No-ip.com right now. I just checked and it supports zoneedit. See if you router is supported by DD-WRT and update it. Plus you get tons of other options beside just a good DDNS update...

I used old cables/connectors from the HD , power, reset switches from the front panelof a old computer case. Worked good.. You need 2 two pins ones. Uplink 7 & 9 are next to each other and 10 & 8 can be paired. Only Connect the three you need.

Jumpers are the same as 2500. Only three wires (TX, RX, Gnd) are needed from the M1XSP DB9 to the 4500. No flow control line or other connections are needed.

All setup as of today. Jamie from Alarm Relay called me and stepped me through the setup. Tested several zones and the Smoke detectors and all is working. I have installers manual .pdf for the 4500ez if anyone needs it.
