    Carbon Monoxide trip

Expiration was what I was thinking as well.  I think some of mine are 6-7 years.

    Sonos UI on RPi

A number of people have created third-party web interfaces (for example, http://www.purple.org/sonos/), but the Sonos is going to sound terrible through your crappy TV speakers.  Even a cheap set of computer speakers would be far better.

Inexpensive Waterproof controller (i.e., waterproof tablet or phone) for use in hot tub or pool

I've been looking for an inexpensive waterproof controller (ideally an android tablet) to use to control my lighting and audio systems from the hot tub.  As long as it can run android, I can get it to do what I want.  Alternatively, I could use an iOS device, but I suspect this would be more...

    HDMI matrix switch

I have not perceived any lag.  If I am playing multi-channel in one room and 2-channel in an adjacent room, I get some very minor echo effect between the two rooms, but I assume that is due to the physical layout of the house more than any lag in the decoding.  I would check directly with...

    HDMI matrix switch

My original rationale was that I wanted to be able to watch the same source in the living room (which has surround sound) and the kitchen (which is only 2-channel) at the same time.  In reality, I use this feature much less than anticipated.

    HDMI matrix switch

My wife had my phone in the car and read me the update to this thread when it came into my inbox and she told me I HAD to reply to this comment and thank you for recognizing all of the tormented spouses :-)       I use Harmony remotes as well (650's) and decided to just leave all of the...

    Subwoofer Wiring Issues

is the powered sub grounded?  If so, try isolating the ground (e.g., by using a 2-prong to 3-prong adapter) and see if that gets rid of the hum.  If so, you just have a ground loop and this is easily resolved without re-wiring.   For troubleshooting, you should also try running an extension cord...

    HDMI matrix switch

I have a Silicondust HDHomerun (not shown here) and use Windows Media Center on the HTPC for cable TV.  The Ceton Echo's are media center extenders which allow us to watch live/recorded TV on multiple TVs at the same time.   You could easily swap the HTPC for a TiVO and the Ceton Echo's for...

    HDMI matrix switch

I use a Gefen Toolbox 8x8 HDMI matrix with good results.  However, I use a separate multizone audio receiver/amps to drive the sound in several rooms and dedicated AVRs in the others.  All my tvs are 1080p, so that solves the lowest common denominator issue from the display-resolution...

    Z Wave Motion Detectors

just a heads up-- most of the zwave sensors have a delay when tripping that makes them unsuitable for occupancy (in my opinion)

Alternative to Leviton Zwave controller VRCOP and Stick VRUSB

That is very strange.  I've had zero issues with the Elk plugin -- only with the stability of Vera itself (which was largely resolved by a transition from Vera Lite to Vera Edge).

Alternative to Leviton Zwave controller VRCOP and Stick VRUSB

I don't have an answer to your question - but I am curious what your issues are with the Elk plugin for Vera?  I used the Elk plugin on my Vera Lite with UI5 and it worked flawlessly.  I upgraded to the Vera Edge, and after some issues with the initial firmware (Spring 2015) it has been solid...

The best zwave controller that works with Sonos, Nest and iOS?

I use a Vera Edge.  I don't integrate my Vera directly with Nest or Sonos, but I know there are third party plugins that allow Vera to talk to both Sonos and Nest and that people use them.

    ELK M1 GOLD KEYPAD

Homerun (from the box to each keypad) is best practice and reduces the likelihood of problems.
