1wire UV sensor

Hello,

I have just received my new 1wire UV sensor. My current setup is a USB 1wire, power injector (tried from 12v to 24v), solar sensor (working fine) and last the UV sensor.

First I have tried seeing it through the 1wireviewer, as soon as I connect power to the power injector, a new device (apparently the UV sensor) flashes for 1-2 seconds and it disappears. If I pause the search I manage to get info on the description page but reports the address and Device type: ee only (without any other tabs such as UV or temp info).

Am I doing something wrong? Is this expected behaviour?

Any other comments on this?

Thank you in advance!

Not sure why it would be disappearing but in the OneWireViewer you will only see the address since the OneWireViewer doesn't know anything about the UVI Meter. You will need some software that support the UVI Meter like Weather Display or OWFS.

Solar does give out temp/humidity/other info so I assumed that I should expect the same from the UV sensor... I'll test tomorrow (as now is dark and UV would anyway give 0)... btw I presume that the flashing (appearing and disappering in 2 sec) is normal again..

Thanks for the prompt answer!

Hi, I finally got some nice sunshine to test the UVI sensor.. Still no luck, I've tried with direct power to the 12+, GND pins, with or without case, but still nothing.

I've tested with a trial ver of WD.. and although solar works perfectly, UVI does not appear at the detected devices (in WD, oppossed to solar which appears as humidity sensor) and still shows 0v..

Any ideas?

Thanks again for your help,
George

George,

Sounds like there is something wrong with your UVI Meter. If you contact support @ hobby-boards.com we can get you the info needed to send it back so we can get you a replacement.

I'll do that. Many thanks for your support Eric.

btw would you know if the 12volt switch noted in WD (1wire setup) would work with the 1wire relays you have?

I'm not sure what 12v switch you are referring to but our 8 Channel I/O device can handle 12v AC or DC no problem.
