5.7e comments

Paul, now that you have the 5.7e up and running, it would be great to get your assessment of the sensitivity/accuracy of the touchscreen and the quality of the display. ....

I have never touched the older 5.7 so I cannot make a comparison. However, my 5.7e seems OK to me. The only issue I have had so far if that I find it hard to tap smaller buttons that are real close to the edge with my fat fingers. The bezzel around the screen sticks up enough to make it difficult to tap a small button close to the edge.

I now have 2 ea Pansonic BB-HCM531A cameras in hand that are supposedly among the "select IP camers" compatible with the 5.7e. Have not had a chance to fire them up yet but my reading of the earlier comments from HAI comment indicate that I cannot use them without Automation Studio. I guess "selected IP camera" really means "pre-setup in Automation Studio" such that I would not need to load all the mfg configuration data...it has already been loaded for me. I have some other desired changes that will drive me to get Automation Studio anyway but I find it disappointing that I cannot make the stock 5.7e link to a camera that has already been predefined by HAI for use in Automation Studio.

I guess you didn't read my post, the 5.7e can be updated via USB AND TCP/IP via Automation Studio.

O.K. I'll amend that. It should say "Only HAI would require you buy a $400+ program so that you can update its POE, Internet enabled touchscreens over the Internet."
