adding links to Hue?

I got the Hue Lux, it found the lux bulbs just fine, but it can't find the GE Links. Is there something special I need to do? The "auto search" also doesn't find it, the lights are on right now. I tried adding by serial #, but it only allows me to type in 6 characters but the links have a pretty long serial #.

just to be safe, reset the bulb.
 
turn it on for 3 seconds, then off for 3 seconds - do this cycle 5 or 6 times until during an 'on' cycle the bulb auto dims then pops back on.
 
and try the search for the bulb again.

Thx. 3 of 4 worked, cycled 4th one 5 times without the dim then the wife made me/family go to dinner.

zWave is awesome once it works but the effort involved is psycho. I just spent another 5 hours on the vrusb. Tempted to scream and follow in your footsteps. I didn't notice until today but I have 6 intermatic switches controlling 20ish bulbs maybe I'll try a bigger install instead of consistent light switches.

Could be a range issue during pairing too...

Taps coming by 9pm. The other two are physically in the same fixture.

Btw not excited about this, Google says it may not be able to read status. Is that accurate? Should I just stick with hue lux at $20? So pissed at zwave right now...

pay no attention to the Hue app.  a dollar gets you ten that it still works, and will still show proper status.

oh, but yes - i like the GE Link and have had no issues with them, and I think ano has had similar experiences to me.
 
however, had the Lux been $20 when I was buying the Links, i would have gone with Lux.

I just got a bonus check in the mail. And I just had 2 Bourbon based cocktails. And home Depot is 8 minutes away. Oy. I just don't want to deal with the vrusb..

hahah.  you're off to a good start.  i think you'll like the system once you get the Taps and everything integrated with CQC.

Hey, now that you have Hue, you can natively use the Echo, no hack required.

Hmm. Back from home Depot, taps were here, opened box tried to connect, no love for either. Wife dragging me out for more cocktails, so I'll try after more Bourbon.
