well looks like i finally got my system together

was wondering if any of you out there have any words of wisdom to help with my install (home), or any experience with the system in general

have the AX-DVF-P door station, AX 8MV Monitor, and AX-084C ceu... ...all new for about $700 total

thanks

They are about the simplest to wire with standard CAT5e or better cabling. Mount the central station unit in the most central location in the home or in a data/wiring closet. It is 19" rack mountable which makes for a clean install. Run a CAT5e to the mater station unit and run a CAT5e to the door stations.

There is an interface that you may need to load on a PC with a serial port. It believe the unit comes with a USB to serial adaptor and the software.

Honestly, the more I dwell on it, I think you can simply plug in the units, power the central station unit up and it should work right out of the box.

thanks for taking the time to respond, where you happy with the quality overall with your installs?

the ceu unit works, but does not have the cd or the cable for the software transfer (i'll download what i need from the aiphone site...i hope)

i've allready run the cat 5, but think i need two power units to power the ceu (i only have one now....will keep checking ebay)

i only have one door, but am considering using an electric release with the unit...also some "voice only" stations around the house////
(my elderly father just moved in and his room is aways from the central part of the house)

you've given me hope!, if you or anyone else has any other thoughts would apprecate it!

You may consider signing up with the manufacturer as an installer, since you are one. Just don't call them with a lot of stupid questions.

I have had very good luck with the handful of systems that I have installed. Some are 2 + years old with no service issues to date.

You may be able to run the system with only one 24vdc power supply if you are going to only have one door, one master, and one door release. I think it's in the paperwork somewhere.

Edit:

Never mind. You can only use 1 PS if you are doing audio only. You'll need two.

Here's the manual:
