I'm proud to announce the release of an update to the j9 Automation Engine software. This is a large release and includes MANY new features. It is available for immediate download here.
The highlights are: (A complete list can be viewed here.)
Touch Screen Builder
Popup touch screen support has been added as well as playing sounds when a touch screen is loaded, unloaded or a control is activated (like a button press). Many new controls have been added including media controls for browsing media library cover art, controlling media players, as well as new specialty controls like the Infrared Button, Loader Button, Radio Button, Loader Radio Button, Paging Button, and Refresh Button. The touch screen event system has been enhanced as well, adding a double pressed event and the single press event now fires when a control is pressed and held for a short period of time, or when it is released (whichever occurs first). A new toolbar and more control layout options, and support for exporting multiple touch screen interfaces to a single file increase usability.
New Device Support
There are two new touch screen interfaces available that can be downloaded and imported into your system for use. See below for screenshots of the newly available touch screen interfaces.
New 3rd Party Interface
Added an easy to use HTTP API (RESTful Web Service) for accessing information and controlling devices via web URLs. This can be used by third party applications or by anyone with a web browser.
Performance
Touch Screen interfaces and images are now cached by the Touch Screen Viewer application and the PocketPC Viewer application. The Devices window in the Administrator application is now displayed and refreshed up to 25 times faster.
Fixes
Many issues from the prior release have been fixed in this version.
This release truely is a very large release and includes many more new features and fixes as well as some breaking changes that those who are upgrading should be aware of. Please review the complete change list.
Thank you for your continued support,
Johnny
