Anyone using ZigBee with HAI?

I love to here your experience.

Mine, not so good. Have a Omni Pro II, v3.10A, 3 Kwikset ZigBee locks, and a HAI 81A00-2WHZB Zigbee Interface Module (ZIM). All pretty standard stuff. I used PC Access to enroll the locks, and that went fine.

The problem is reliability, there is none. From PC Access, when I check the status of the locks, its wrong as often as it is correct. I sometimes can lock or unlock the locks from PC Access, but sometimes they do nothing.

While PC Access will only display locks as "locked" or "unlocked" the main screen of the ZIM displays them as "ON" "OFF" or N/A" and again, the status is wrong as much as its correct. Even worse, the status that the ZIM reports for a lock, is often different than what PC Access is reporting.

I have updated the firmware in the ZIM, but no help.

I'm tring to determine if I have a broken ZIM, or if its just poorly designed and doesn't really work well. There are many hints that it is full of bugs. Like if it knows its a lock, why does it say its "On" or "Off?" That is just sloppy. On the home screen, the device name just runs off the screen. The list of bugs goes on and on.

If I return all the locks and ZIM, is Zwave any better?

Nevermind. I attempted to reload the firmware in the ZIM using ZigBee Update, thinking that was the problem. The firmware seemed to update OK, but then the display on the ZIM went blank, and that is all she wrote. Its never come on again. Since i don't see any type of reset button on the ZIM, it looks like back to Amazon and HAI it goes. Maybe this should be a warning to any HAI ZIM owners when they perform a firmware upgrade. Don't do it unless you have to, or at least do it while your ZIM is still under warranty.
