Away becomes Day on LT

Just when I think I've got it all together, I get a curve ball. When I press the Away key to arm, the system goes through its exit delay and comes up "system OK' except it shows Day as the mode. The motion sensors also do not respond. They show as "not ready" on the screen but do not trip the alarm. They are configured as Away Interior and Latching Away Interior as they are in areas that we might walk through at night when the system is in Night mode I tried to arm through the menu but it came out the same. I have done some simple programming of the system but did not deal with the Away mode. Why is the system not going into Away mode? By the way, I apologize for being such a nuisance and do appreciate all of the help I have received here.

Al,

This is by design. If an entry/exit zone is not tripped during the exit delay, the system will arm into day mode, instead of away. It's call "Unvacated Premises" and can be enabled or disabled under Setup-Arming. Try disabling it, and everything should work like you want it to. It's a pretty neat feature, say you arm away, but for some reason don't exit in time (forgot something, etc)...Well instead of arming away, you then tripping a motion, alarm going off, etc, it just arms into day mode.

Makes good sense. I'll leave as is, now that I know how it works. Thanks so much.
