Basic MOCA setup

I've seen a lot of videos on MOCA and they can be confusing with a lot of talk about splitters.

I need to know if this would work. I'm only using 1 (one) RG6 coax from house to workshop. Coax cable was run a long time ago and running cat5 is not doable. Wifi would be weak from house.

MOCA device

WiFi Extender

I don't see where I need a slitter.

Any recommendations on simple MOCA device.

You should be good to go as you describe, but depending on what you are using for a WIFI extender (ports available) you might want to consider a switch out in the workshop. Just depends on what you plan to have out there. I try to limit wifi to phones and occasional laptop. Most everything else hardwired. To be forthcoming, I've only used the goCoax MoCA 2.5 Adapter. So not able to offer any comparison.

Thanks for the reply. A switch is an option but the extender/access point is for my wifi Ring Cameras in that area. I've seen pretty good reviews on the goCoax adapter. I figure setup is just connecting everything and turning it on.

There are some advanced options on the goCoax device, but I opted for defaults. Has been flawless and coax run was probably 200ft with 2 inline f-connecter splices in the coax.
